Privacy Policy
Polar Lapland (Rovaniemi, Finland) respects your privacy. This page explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect
Contact form: your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, and the content of your message. We use this only to answer you and to arrange the tour you asked about.
Bookings: tours are booked through our booking provider Bokun, which processes your booking and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive the booking details needed to run your tour.
Site analytics: only if you accept analytics cookies, our own server records which pages you visit, the referring site, campaign parameters, device type, browser language, approximate location and time, and a random visitor ID is kept in your browser so that a return visit can be recognised. If you choose "Necessary only", or do not answer the cookie banner, nothing about your visit is recorded.
Google Analytics and Google Ads: only loaded if you accept analytics or marketing cookies in our consent banner; until then nothing is sent to Google. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram): only loaded if you accept marketing cookies. It measures which of our ads lead to visits and bookings.
Legal basis and retention
We process contact and booking data to perform a contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering one, and site statistics, Google and Meta data on the basis of your consent. We keep enquiry messages for up to 24 months and booking records for as long as Finnish accounting law requires.
Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers that help us operate: our booking platform (Bokun), our email and spreadsheet provider used to handle enquiries, and Google and Meta where you have consented. We never sell your personal data.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to processing, or ask for your data in a portable format. Email Sales@polarlapland.com and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman.
Cookies
Necessary cookies keep the site and booking widgets working, for example the session cookie of the Bokun booking calendar that holds your cart. Analytics and marketing cookies are set only after you accept them, and they are deleted if you withdraw your consent. Maps from Google Maps load only if you accept marketing cookies or click "Show map". Manage your preferences any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
